Those wondering why their local newsstand looks like a scene out of Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” can rest assured they have not been watching the hit music video too many times on repeat. It is not a trick of the mind: Ms. Swift and her closest BFFs really did score a bunch of September magazine covers.
Ms. Swift graces the September cover of Vanity Fair. Photographed by Mario Testino—who Ms. Swift called “incredible” on Instagram—the pop star poses next to a piano and sports a black blazer, white dress shirt, black kerchief, and bright red lip.

Meanwhile, model Gigi Hadid—Instagram sensation, “Bad Blood” star and close friend of Ms. Swift—scored the September cover of W. Ms. Hadid wears a Dolce & Gabbana fur coat in the photographs shot by Steven Meisel and styled by Edward Enninful.
“Steven Meisel shooting me for the September cover of @WMag is a dream come true. Living legend,” Ms. Hadid wrote on Instagram. “This shoot was another reminder of how blessed I am to experience life this way … I’m so lucky to work with people like you, your talent and passion is so inspiring.”

But that was not all for the “Bad Blood” alumnae. Model Karlie Kloss is on the cover of not one, but two September glossies: Glamour and Flare.
Ms. Kloss modeled a red Gucci dress for the cover of Glamour, photographed by Tom Munro. “Truly honored to be on the cover of @GlamourMag’s #SeptemberIssue,” she wrote on Instagram.
The model also posed for the September cover of Flare wearing Joe Fresh, in whose fall campaign she currently stars.

Of course, September’s covers are not off-limits to those who are, shall we say, not as good friends with Ms. Swift. Here is Katy Perry—the rumored subject of “Bad Blood”—on the cover of Vogue Japan:
