Bill de Blasio is having a bad week on social media.
On Monday, the mayor’s impromptu Twitter chat veered off the rails, as he answered questions about Coney Island snacks but ignored queries about city policy.
Mr. de Blasio was criticized on Twitter again last night after his official account tweeted out a mock New York Post cover which read “Safest Summer In 20 Years, But We Still Hate de Blasio”:

The vultures immediately began to circle, as commenters criticized the mayor’s thin skin and his seeming focus on unimportant issues:

I want to like @BilldeBlasio but this is pretty lame. Get a thicker skin, dude. pic.twitter.com/nAMy3HvZ4y

@BilldeBlasio @nypost This is what passes for an adult in 2015. A very tall, thin-skinned, child. My gosh. #clueless #leftists

@BilldeBlasio @nypost lets close the times square plaza cause boobies offend us while homeless rot in the streets. #importantissues

Mr. de Blasio’s office has not commented on the controversial tweet since it was posted.
