Democrat Schroeder Bows out of Atlantic County Exec’s Race

schroederThe Democratic challenger for Atlantic County executive has announced he will bow out of the race due to concerns over his health.

“With regret I will be suspending my campaign and dropping out of the race for Atlantic County Executive,” said James E. Schroeder, III from his Hammonton home. “After consulting with my doctor, I simply do not have the heart for the campaign and its rigors.  I thank all those who have supported me and will continue to try to help people regardless of title or position.

Schroeder was opposing Republican incumbent Dennis Levinson.

He is the owner of the Schroeder Law Group, a law firm with offices in Hammonton and Egg Harbor City. He is the Prosecutor in Port Republic and Estell Manor; and Land Use Attorney for Egg Harbor City, Buena Vista Township and Estell Manor.

He is a former member of the Shamong Township Committee in Burlington County and holds multiple degrees. He serves on numerous boards and consults with not-for-profit organizations and community development projects. He received a Community Service Award from Stockton, was named a Marshall Brennan Fellow at Rutgers Camden Law School, and an Eagleton Fellow at Rutgers University. Schroeder is the President of the Greater Egg Harbor City Chamber of Commerce, a preaching elder at Crossroads Community Church, a member of the Atlantic County Board of Realtors, a member of the Atlantic County, New Jersey and the American Bar Associations. He is licensed to practice law in New Jersey, New York and the District of Columbia.
