America’s very own Mr. Robot is now on Twitter. Edward Snowden, the former CIA agent who unmasked the American government’s mass surveillance program, goes by the Twitter handle @Snowden and only follows one account—the NSA.
On his profile, Mr. Snowden mentions his involvement with @FreedomofPress, his voice as strong as ever despite currently living in exile.
His first conversation on the account includes a back and forth with astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, who recently posted a conversation with Mr. Snowden on Star Talk Radio.
Mr. Snowden also doesn’t seem to care that some people consider him a hero and others a traitor, since @DanielEllsberg, known for leaking the Pentagon Papers to the press, told him that “#labels never stopped progress.”
In his first tweet, the “NSA whistle blower” asked his followers if they could hear him now. Loud and clear, Mr. Snowden.
