Where Nature and Architecture Meet: The Arashiyama Bamboo Grove in Kyoto

Short List / Where Nature and Architecture Meet

Kyoto is my favorite place in the world, and the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove is a place where nature and architecture meet. The forest is both spiritual and peaceful for me, I love meandering and getting lost among the trees that look like pillars. The sheer abundance of them, and the uniformity of the greenery are utterly pleasing to the eye and absolutely impactful. There’s also a great tea house at the end with a window to the forest, where they serve only green tea.
