Democrats lead Republicans in the fundraising battle in the critical local Ocean County torque point of Brick Township, where Mayor John Ducey (pictured) wants to maintain control against a Republican incursion.
According to the state Election Law Enforcement Commission, the Democratic Joint Campaign Fund of Crate, Fozman, Halloran and Zapcic (otherwise know as the Ducey Team for Brick 2015), has raised $95,498 and reported a closing balance of $55,594 on October 5th.
By contrast, the Republican Joint campaign account of Pannucci, Ebert, Conti and Bacon has raised $42,444 and reported $13,504 cash on hand on October 6th.
Republicans had to regroup this cycle when the leader of their ticket went disintegrated on sexual misconduct charges. It’s a GOP town on paper, but the Democratic mayor is popular, according to sources in both camps, which explains why his ticket is running in his name.
