Vanity Projects isn’t exactly your run-of-the-mill nail salon. There are no gossip mags in the waiting area and a simple mani is frowned upon. Instead, you can watch moving paintings projected on the wall while choosing from nail art that would look equally at home hanging in a museum.
The salon is stocked with ridiculously chic nail art options, whether you want the Star Wars galaxy or Daria decorating your digits. Now, the beloved salon has sprung up in Miami, just in time for Art Basel. It’s half salon and half museum, making it the ideal Basel beauty hotspot. Before you risk a New York mani that’s sure to smudge in gloves, or somehow forget about a pedicure because you’ve been wearing boots for ages, try your hand at an artistic approach.
If you’re unwilling to step out of the sun and into a salon, visit their poolside cabana popup at the Thompson Hotel starting on December 2. It’s by appointment only, so start envisioning the tropical print of your winter dreams. It’s a signature look that pairs perfectly with a sunshine-ready ensemble. In a rush to head to the next party? Give them a call and they’ll visit your hotel room, like the glam squad you’ve always needed.
They’re also joining forces with Jen Stark, the visual artist who made Miley Cyrus’s last video a must-see. Ms. Stark is a Kendra Wilkinson lookalike (according to her many Instagram followers) and muralist who livens up spaces with bold designs, from the Facebook offices, Montauk’s Surf Lodge and even the Gagosian bathroom. Finally, your hands can look as psychedelic as Miley’s body (although they’ll be far less NSFW).
