Democrats appear to have won two seats in LD11, according to Monmouth County Democratic sources.

Assemblywomen Mary Pat Angelini and Caroline Casagrande (pictured) appear to have gone down in defeat.

Speaker Vincent Prieto and Assembly Majority Leader Lou Greenwald were said to be en route to Monmouth County to celebrate with Democratic victors Eric Houghtaling and Joann Downey.

Update

“Serving in the 11h District so far has been the honor of my lifetime,” Casagrande told crestfallen supporters as broadcast on NJTV.

The General Majority PAC affiliated with South Jersey Democratic leader George Norcross III and the Monmouth County Democratic party went all in to take out the two incumbents, putting up $500,000 for an ad against Angelini in the closing days of the campaign cycle.
