If you love the taste of coffee, but don’t want to find yourself shaking at your desk after the fourth cup, there’s an answer. “It’s time, customers have been waiting for this,” Swiss Water’s President Frank Dennis said during a recent visit to the brand’s pop-up at 300 Lafayette Street. “People don’t always want caffeine, but they always want a great coffee experience. Swiss Water is the answer to both.”

Swiss Water counts itself as the only 100 percent chemical-free decaf coffee, while others use methylene chloride to extract caffeine from your cup of joe. “We are a coffee company that actually specializes in caffeine removal,” Mr. Dennis said. “We start with incredible tasting coffee and after we’ve selectively removed caffeine, all the delicate taste characteristics of the origin is still intact.”

It starts with green coffee beans, which are then submerged in a water-based coffee extract. Via osmosis, caffeine is drawn out of the coffee beans over multiple hours. The resulting product is a decaf cup of coffee with all of the same flavors. The pop-up will be shilling the decaf drinks until November 8, and best of all, it’s entirely free.
