When Vogue and the CFDA sends out exclusive invites to a crew of designers, models and people of interest in the fashion industry, there’s no doubt that there will be plenty of impeccable getups to ogle over. And last night, that was exactly the case when the winner of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund was announced over a lavish spread.
Well, technically there were three up-and-comers who snagged the winner title: Aurora James of Brother Vellies, Jonathan Simkhai and Rio Uribe of Gypsy Sport. They received their honors at Spring Studios, where a lush cocktail hour was followed by a grand dinner, drawing the likes of Zendaya, Amanda Seyfried, Lake Bell and Lorde, along with notable designers such as Riccardo Tisci, Vera Wang and Zac Posen.
While the winners took home a $300,000 prize, along with priceless mentorships from members of the fashion community, the rest of the crowd were kept entertained by a performance by singer Andra Day. Not a bad deal for anyone involved.
