Bestselling self-help author Marianne WIlliamson is scheduled to appear at a campaign fundraiser for Norcross-baiting CD1 congressional hopeful Alex Law in Moorestown this Thursday. Law, who would be facing Donald Norcross (D – N.J.) in the primary and reach the minimum age required for members of congress next March, is the only candidate in New Jersey to officially endorse Bernie Sanders.
Law’s long-shot campaign has made waves in his district, where the congressman’s brother George Norcross III runs the show as South Jersey’s preeminent boss. Norcross and Law talked policy and the future of South Jersey with PolitickerNJ earlier this year.
Williamson, a one-time progressive holdout for congress in California, will be lending her support to Law at a time when Sanders is making headway in New Jersey with a recent endorsement from New Jersey Working Families. The advocacy group had never officially endorsed a national candidate before this week. Sanders’ candidacy has also emboldened longtime Socialist holdout Tino Rozzo in CD2, who called the Vermont independent’s run an inspiration to get back in the game himself.
