Leave it to Kate Middleton to finish out 2015 by causing yet another fashion frenzy. This time it wasn’t her dicey haircut, or the precious dress she dressed Princess Charlotte in. Rather, it was a holiday outfit that set off shoppers in a tizzy and left retailers reeling.
To attend Christmas Day church service with the royal family, the Duchess of Cambridge opted for a bottle green Sportmax coat. Ms. Middleton added her own flair to the mid-calf length coat in the form of waist cinching green crocodile belt and a brooch on her lapel. She finished off the look with a coordinating green fascinator, as one does when attending church at the Queen’s country retreat in Sandringham.
According to Fashionista, this wool coat sold out mere hours after Ms. Middleton stepped out on Christmas Day. The coat originally went for $1,895, but was available on sale from Farfetch for $1,231.75.
For Sunday church service at Sandringham on December 27, Ms. Middleton stepped out with her family yet again, but opted for a polished getup by Michael Kors. Her skirt and jacket combo was made from slate and claret guncheck wool and was from the Fall 2015 collection.
The jacket from this second church outing can still be purchased on sale for $1,088 from $1,555 from Stylebop, although the fluted skirt the Duchess wore is nowhere to be found. Perhaps a Michael Kors pencil skirt in the same pattern will do the trick. But we’d recommend adding these to your shopping cart stat, there’s no telling how quickly they will sell out.
