Blame it on global warming, but dressing for the seasons has become a total guessing game. In a beautiful turn of events, designers have embraced the ambiguity of weather with aplomb, much thanks to the mini collections they roll out in between each spring/summer and fall/winter collection.
Such is the case with the pre-fall 2016 ranges, where Fendi offers up a slew of sleepwear-inspired pieces alongside sumptuous furs while Tory Burch delivers a lineup of tropical island approved silk dresses and loose trousers. Variety was the name of the game for this season, although a few trends have already emerged. For one, the color purple is back with a vengeance, lace details are everywhere and geometric patchwork patterns are plotting a serious comeback.
Here, we’ve selected our absolute favorite looks from each collections, including Burberry‘s delightfully oversized shearling and a cream Chanel dress that hit the runway at their Rome runway show. This isn’t the only pre-fall treat we have to offer. Check back in a few weeks, with round two of our selection of drool-worthy frocks, jackets and trousers to fawn over.
