Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-32) sworn her into office in front of the entire governing body.

“A woman of great character, business experience, and family experience,” said Assembly Minority Leader Jon Bramnick (R-21). “Thank you so much for joining us, Gail.”

An Andover Township resident, Republican Phoebus won election to the Sussex County freeholder board in 2012. She and her husband own the Farmstead Golf & Country Club in Lafayette Township.

“I have big shoes to fill in replacing Alison Littell McHose,” Phoebus told the chamber.

“We are very excited to work with you,” Assembly Majority Leader Lou Greenwald told the Assembly’s newest member.
