Sell One, Keep One: $35M Sale Shows 15 CPW Still Capable of Impressive Flips

We'll always have 15 CPW.

We’ll always have 15 CPW.

Just when we thought things had gone quiet behind the hallowed limestone halls of 15 Central Park West, the apartment building has mustered at least one impressive sale before year’s end. (The $3 million loss that a seller took on a duplex last week was not particularly heartening.)

Hidden behind Swiftsure Property LLC, attorney (and partner) at Fryer & Ross Gerald E. Ross has reminded us all that 15 CPW is still capable of some impressive acrobatics. He sold the eighth-floor corner unit he paid $16.99 million for in 2008 for the full asking price of $35 million.

The new owners of the four-bedroom, 5.5-bath are currently known only as 79A Mosholu Park Avenue LLC, and sadly the listing photos are about as descriptive as the LLC.

Jacky Teplitzky, Jacques Cohen, William Martin and Geraldine Dayan at Douglas Elliman had the listing, which tells us pretty much zilch about the actual interior of the apartment, other than that it has the triple exposures and all-around grandeur of every single condo in the building.

We do know that as of now, it looks like Mr. Ross isn’t going too far just yet, since he’s still holding on to his other unit in the building that he purchased for $11.15 million. He won’t even have to worry about moving floors—his other apartment is just next door to the one he sold, albeit with one less bathroom. But since he more than doubled his original investment in the first apartment, perhaps he will opt to add an additional powder room.
