The girls shouldn’t have all the fun when it comes to holiday gift-giving. While the buzz surrounding Gwyneth Paltrow’s pricy Valentino goods at her GOOP Mrkt in the Time Warner Center might be dominating the current holiday pop-up scene in Manhattan, there are a handful of outposts geared toward the guys.
From the Montauk-imported athleisure at Whalebone’s store on the Bowery, to the essential workplace footwear at Jack Erwin, each of these pop-up shops can cater to any man you might have to buy for in the next few days. Best of all, there’s no shipping and handling required.
Whalebone is an East End-based lifestyle brand and media company helmed by Jesse Joeckel who wants to let the world know that Montauk isn’t just a Summer party locale. Thus, the brand’s pop-up at 310 Bowery Bar is a curated selection of beach-y goods sourced exclusively from Montauk.
Open through January 1, 2016. 310 Bowery.
The brand’s first foray into a bricks & mortar space has been done in a big way with a holiday pop-up in Soho chock full of their signature athletic goods, seasonal releases, and limited edition products exclusive to the store.
Open through January 15, 2016. 292 Lafayette St.
3. BESPOKEN x TRNK
A coterie of cool dudes have all come together to make this pop-up happen. Brothers Liam, Sammy, and James Fayed, co-founders of BESPOKEN, and Tariq Dixon and Nick Nemecheck, co-founders of TRNK, have all teamed up to reimagine BESPOKEN’s showroom at 50 East 57th St in the iconic Turnbull & Asser townhouse. The result is a man’s ideal living room filled with top pieces from both brands.
Open through December 23, 2015. 50 East 57th St, Floor 7. Appointments can be made here.
4. JACK ERWIN
This men’s footwear powerhouse already has a shopping location at their showroom in Tribeca, but to ring in the holiday season, Jack Erwin has opted to open another “Winter Fitting Room” in Midtown East. Consider this place a one-stop-shop to stock up on footwear from boardroom to bedroom, and everything in between .
Open through March 1, 2016. 245 Park Avenue.
