“As leaders representing thousands of men and women across the state of New Jersey, we collectively wish to reiterate our appreciation for Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto and Senate President Steve Sweeney, acknowledging the importance of the expansion of casino gaming.

“As they both recognize that the successful passage of the constitutional amendment can be a catalyst for the revitalization of Atlantic City, expansion of tourism in the state, growth of a strong middle class and a driver for economic development throughout the state, this debate has been critical in recognizing the urgency to address this matter.

“It is important that legislation has bi-partisan support and unified leadership support between the Assembly and Senate, as opposed to attempting to force through legislation that is destined to fail.

“We strongly urge these two great leaders to continue to work toward the necessary compromise on legislation from the current proposed legislation in both the Senate and Assembly, so that we can move forward and allow the voters of New Jersey to approve this measure, creating thousands of jobs for NJ residents.

“We have witnessed the leadership of both houses demonstrate their ability to work together and put New Jersey first in the past, and we look forward to this cooperation again in allowing gaming beyond Atlantic City.”
