In a little over a month, actors and actresses from Hollywood’s upper echelon will be really flexing their red carpet muscles for the Oscars. Until then, they’re slipping into frocks, gowns and fancy pants (literally) for the slew of award shows that precede it.
Last night, the A-list convened for the 21st Annual Critics’ Choice Awards and the tapis rouge didn’t disappoint. Of the many stars that studded the red carpet, there were 10 standouts looks from the ladies. While they certainly varied in cut and color—from Zoe Kazan’s embellished Oscar de la Renta column style to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley‘s vampy black Saint Laurent dress—they all shared a similar concept: Each of these outfits were simple, but had a flashy detail in the form of sequins, sultry necklines or romantic embellishments. And yes, that even included Liv Tyler’s baby bump, which was clad in Cushnie et Ochs.
