Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli (R-16) today said Gov. Chris Christie should think about resigning his governorship if he continues to maintain an out-of-state campaign work rate for billionaire real estate tycoon Donald Trump.
“Being a candidate for President is one thing. Being a surrogate is quite another,” Ciattarelli said. “Given the very significant challenges we face in New Jersey, stepping down, as unorthodox as that may seem, should be a consideration if being any presidential candidate’s surrogate now means being out of state a lot of the time.”
Ciattarelli is a possible 2017 Republican candidate for governor.
in state today, Christie has scheduled a rare press conference at the Statehouse this afternoon.
The press conference is scheduled for 3 p.m.
