If London Fashion Week is the hub for young and emerging designers (launching the careers of luminaries such as Alexander McQueen and Mary Katrantzou), Milan Fashion Week is the epicenter of the accessories world.
It’s where leather brands like Valextra, known for a sharp aesthetic, reign supreme and where American footwear king Brian Atwood lands to reveal his latest creations. So when designers such as Miuccia Prada or Fausto Puglisi roll out new collections on the runway, we tend to hone in on the shoes and the bags. Then our eye travels to the clothing.
The swirling prints at Emilio Pucci were nice, but the mountain boot-inspired flats were incredible. And while Gucci offered up a serious selection of neon fur coats, the simple yet flashy stiletto sandals stole the show.
