A company called Pay Your Selfie wants to give you cash for doing what you already do—we’re talking about taking goofy selfies. Chinese food selfie? Yup, you can earn money for that. Selfie with your grandma? You can earn cash for that too.
Here’s how it works. Pay Your Selfie is a free app for iOS and Android. Simply download the app and sign up with your email or Facebook account, and then you can start participating in fun “selfie tasks.” For each selfie you upload to the app, you’ll earn up to $1, and once you rack up $20, you can cash out. These are some of the tasks on the app right now:
- Afternoon snack selfie
- Selfie with a gift card
- Selfie with a Lord & Taylor shopping bag
- Chinese takeout selfie
- Selfie with your favorite beer
- Selfie with your grandma
- Glasses selfie
If you’re not concerned about privacy, this app can be a great way to earn some extra money. If you do worry about the fate of your selfies, however, Pay Your Selfie isn’t for you. Once you upload a selfie, the company holds a copy in its database with the intention of eventually selling it to brands. When you agree to the terms of service, you also give the company permission to edit and modify the selfie as it pleases.
