“Today, I have decided to announce my intentions to run for the office of County Register,” Coleman said in a statement. “During my time on the City Council, I have tirelessly devoted myself to the constituents of Ward F, and I look forward to continuing my public service by applying my experience to the office of the County Register, streamlining services and providing vital functions. Consequently, I will not be seeking re-election to the City Council.
“During the past few months, I have received overwhelming support from County Committee Members and community activists, encouraging me to run for this office. In the coming weeks, I will meet with elected officials in Hudson County, seeking their support for my candidacy.”
The primary election will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016.
