Finding things that powerfully encourage me to reflect and stay connected with myself is hard, which is why I absolutely love “Skycube,” an art installation by David Wallace Haskins, on view now outside the Elmhurst Art Museum.

Imagine a wall in front of you, now imagine that wall magically showing exactly the sky above you. Standing in front of the cube and watching the clouds roll by is such a surreal and transcendent experience, and it connects you to the sky like never before. As your brain tries to make sense of what is going on, every passing cloud makes you feel like you are floating. This is the first time this installation is up in a public place and not in private homes.
