New Yorkers with a Rodarte fetish (especially those that are lacking the budget) are in luck: Come March 17, two outposts of & Other Stories in Manhattan will be stocking their collab with the California-based brand. Filled with sequins and featuring quite a few ’70s-inspired silhouettes, this partnership was first announced to the world back in October, to much internet fanfare.

Now, the result of the collaborative effort has been realized and it’s just as lurex and crushed velvet filled as we’d hoped, yet the pieces are still totally wearable. Especially the pajama-inspired silk top. The prices are particularly attainable, too, topping out at $425 for a pair of patchwork platform booties. A chiffon ruffle sleeved top retails for $65, a sequin wrap top will go for $195 and a pair of high waisted velvet trousers are $125.
The full collection will be available on the & Other Stories website on March 17, but we anticipate this range to sell out quicker than you can say Laura and Kate Mulleavy. Luckily, the full range will be carried in Soho (at 575 Broadway) and Midtown (at 505 5th Avenue), so New Yorkers can stock up on their Rodarte goodies, for much less than runway prices.
The Mulleavy sisters explained their design ethos for this collab: “We wanted to create a collection that represents the textures of a California lifestyle. The clothes should easily transition from day to night and transform to one’s personal style and individuality. For us, it was important to create go-to staples for one’s wardrobe: a great jacket, dress, skirt, blouse, sweater, shoes and a set of jewellery that are completely versatile.” Finally, New Yorkers can embrace that easy California life. Well, as soon as they get their hands on these exclusive designs.
