Flatiron is indisputably the epicenter of New York’s workout craze, making it an ideal place for Tory Burch to situate the flagship of her athleisure line. Tory Sport sits on Fifth Avenue, nestled among an Equinox, Soul Cycle, Fhitting Room and countless other workout studios. Finessed with Ms. Burch’s retro knack for design, this shop isn’t the place to go for a basic pair of black leggings.

Well, you can actually buy a lot of black leggings here–in skinny, cropped and bootleg iterations–but that’s aside the point. What you should really buy here is a ’70s inspired merino turtleneck with striped cuffs and wide-leg pants with vertical stripes down the side. You can still wear basic black leggings underneath these chicer layers, which Ms. Burch considers as part of her Coming & Going category.

Tory Sport shoppers can stock up on slip-on pearl embellished sneakers, a neoprene gym tote or a sweater with “Tennis” embroidered across the chest. The store also carries high-tech gear and accessories for swimming, golf, running and whatever boutique fitness class you’ve signed up for next

“We thought about the casual vibe of a Seventies surf lodge and reimagined it with Scandinavian design principles,” said Ms. Burch of the store’s décor. “With clean simple lines and completely flexible interior, the store balances functionality with style.” Similar to the Soho pop-up shop the designer installed this past September, the Flatiron shop has a total retro vibe. Jean Royère chairs line a seating area, while handrails are wound with leather, much like a tennis racket and a striped floor detail evokes the lanes of a swimming pool.

So even if you have no plans to workout in the near future, at least you can dress for the occasion, and conjure the experience, at this shop.
