57th street location, which features a Gilt in-store shop. The store
promises to bring the online site to life, complete with an in-person
weekly flash sale, a video wall and other tech elements
(360-degree-view dressing rooms, maybe? We’ll find out!) Celebrate its
grand opening tonight with champagne, 20 percent off deals and a

There are a whole lot of arty events this week, and that’s nice, good
for art. Today you can stop by the 16th edition of SCOPE New York,
featuring the innovative work of Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series Winner
Aron Belka. His pieces represent subjects who have been impacted by

SATURDAY March 5
Today is a really good day to skip brunch. The lines are too long, and
for this one day, you’ve got something much more important to do. The
U.N. Women for Peace Association is hosting its annual rally and march
to end violence against women. The march is intended to raise
awareness for the 5 million women being held in slavery, the 60
million women who are child brides and 140 million who are genitally
mutilated. The association remarks, “They are our mothers, our
sisters, and our daughters.” But, you know, you shouldn’t really have
to see these people as family members to realize that this happening
to any human being is appalling. Remember: “Women’s rights are human
rights.” And if you still need an additional incentive, Dionne Warwick
will be serving as the Grand Marshall, and she’ll be accompanied by
the U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and his wife, UNWFPA’s patron,

SUNDAY March 6
Did you know that the average Armory Show VIP Collector spends between
$75,000 and $2 million? There. In that place. Not like, “on art, over
their lifetime.” That is a real statistic. Since I assume that an
excess $1 million is burning a hole in your mink track suit, you’ll
want to know that today is your last chance to stop by the Armory
Show. The art world fair runs March 3 to March 6. There you’ll get a
chance to tour the offerings of 204 galleries from 36 different
countries—which means the odds that at least some of them will be
offering wine and cheese at their booths will be so high (and if you
do spend that $1 million, I’m sure you get caviar). You’ll have a
chance to check out Contemporary exhibits at Pier 94 and Modern ones

MONDAY March 7
A huge yoga session is taking place at Madison Square Garden, which is
the polar opposite of everything you’d expect to see at MSG. The class
is called Impact Garden and will be lead by supermodel and yoga
instructor Angela Lindvall. And everyone who attends gets a goody bag!

TUESDAY March 8
Swing by the premiere of Creative Control, a movie set in “New York,
five minutes in the future” about a man who develops a virtual avatar
of his best friend’s girlfriend. There will be a Q&A with the director

WEDNESDAY March 9
The National Center for Learning Disabilities will be hosting its 39th
annual benefit dinner where Paula Zahn will be serving as master of
ceremonies. High school seniors graduating with learning disabilities
will also be recognized with Anne Ford and Allegra Ford Thomas
