Hackensack Police Director to Resign, Bergen Dispatch Report Says

Civilian Director of the Hackensack Police Department Michael Mordaga will likely resign according to a Monday report by the Bergen Dispatch.

According to the report, sources are saying that Mordaga is citing personal reasons for his departure. However, Mordaga is currently facing a lawsuit for misconduct (another was recently settled). He is also facing allegations that the director was incorrectly overstepping his power by advising on day-to-day police operations, involved in an effort to remove police officers and replace them with those unlikely to challenge his authority.
