
Lead by Hudson County Democratic Organization (HCDO) Chairman and Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto, the HCDO announced their slate of candiatates for the June 7 primary during a Monday press conference at the William J. Brennan Courthouse in Jersey City.
In addition to endorsing former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for president, the group also announced endorsements of Congressman Albio Sires, Congressman Donald Payne, Jr., Congressman Bill Pascrell, Hudson County Sherriff Frank Schillari and Hudson County Register Candidate Diane Coleman.
“Hudson County Democrats are fighting to give working people the opportunity for a better life, and Hillary Clinton’s entire political career has been focused on that same priority,” said Prieto. “Whether it’s expanding and protecting voter rights, advocating for higher wages and more jobs or demanding equal pay for equal work and equal treatment for everyone, our focus could not be more aligned and I am so proud to endorse Hillary for President today.”
Prieto also announced that the HCDO was naming Jersey City Councilwoman at-Large Joyce Watterman and former Assemblywoman Joan Quigley as Clinton’s local campaign coordinators.
