U.S. Representative Donald Norcross will debate progressive challenger Alex Law in Deptford twice before the primary election that will see them square off for the nomination in the first congressional district.

The Southern New Jersey Chamber of Commerce in will host the first debate on May 31 in Voorhees. A second in Deptford on June 2 will be hosted by the Gloucester County NAACP, along with the Jewish Community Relations Council of South Jersey, the Islamic Center of South Jersey and the Camden County East NAACP.

Norcross, brother of South Jersey Democratic power broker George Norcross III, has served as congressman for the district since 2014. Law, a 25-year-old former consultant at IBM, is heavily outspent and faces an uphill battle. At the end of March Law had spent just over $40,000 on his campaign to Norcross’ roughly $591,000 according to FEC records.
