Stack Approval Ratings Superior Amid County Exec Run Buzz

Brian Stack.

They call him “24/7” because they call him 24/7 and he returns phone calls; a walking constituent services package who has Hudson operatives more and more talking up his chances as a 2018 Hudson County executive prospect. Countywide might be as upwardly mobile as the famously feverishly local Union City Mayor Brian P. Stack wants to go. Up for reelection as senator (2017) and mayor (2018), Stack continues to enjoy monster approval ratings in his home town. A survey last month of 300 likely local general election voters by McLaughlin and Associates shows continued and broad support for Stack, “consistently unlike any other elected official that we poll. It is important to note, these ratings far surpass the ratings for public officials that we see in other cities, states and districts anywhere in the country.” The polling outfit notes that “Mayor Stack is overwhelmingly popular with an intense and wide base of support. His hard work for the people of Union City is deeply appreciated by his constituents. Mayor Brian Stack continues to exceed the benchmark ratings a safe incumbent should receive.”

According to the poll:

Mayor Stack receives an 81% favorable rating. Only 6% are unfavorable. Strong incumbents score over 50%.
