Parker passed away over the weekend.
Parker passed away unexpectedly in April.

Teaneck Mayor Lizette Parker was a supporter of incumbent councilpeople Mohammed Hameeduddin, Mark Schwartz and Dr Henry Pruitt before her untimely death last month. Now, her family is urging voters to continue her legacy and vote for the incumbents in the Tuesday municipal election.

A post published on Parker’s facebook page over the weekend, Parker’s husband Anthony wrote: “Our family made sacrifices so that Lizette could pursue her love and passion for community service and her commitment to making Teaneck a great place for all.”

The statement continues: “At this time we would like to ask you, her friends, neighbors and colleagues, to please continue Lizette’s good work and on May 10th vote for Hameeduddin, Schwartz and Pruitt to help keep Teaneck moving forward.”

Anthony Parker also thanked the community for “the love and support shown to [them] by the community during these very difficult days.”

Hameeduddin, Schwartz and Pruitt are facing challengers Chondra Young, Stephen Gruber, Michael Pagan and Jacob Herenstein in Tuesday’s municipal election.
