Move over SK-II Facial Treatment Mask, there’s a new sheet mask in town. This one even features a delightful tingling sensation, while promising to make the skin appear smoother and younger.
Verso’s Intense Facial Mask is not for the timid, as the slightly slimy concoction is packed with Retinol 8, which fights the signs of aging but can be tough on sensitive skin. The slimy texture that the mask comes with is due to hydrogel technology, which allows the retinol, grapefruit extract, Centella Asiatica, Ceramide-3 and Canola Oil to be fully absorbed into the skin. Maximum absorption means this mask will provide hydration for up to 30 hours.
Each pouch in the 4-pack (which retails for $75 on Barneys.com) arrives in two separate pieces: one for the forehead, nose and cheeks, and another for the jaw and mouth area. This allows users to tailor the face mask as spot treatment, to focus on one problem area at a time. And while this Verso product promises to result in younger looking skin, the brand don’t infuse this mask with sulfates, synthetic dyes, GMOs or any other gross or dangerous ingredients.
I applied the mask and let it sit for 20 minutes, while catching up on the latest episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Once my iPhone timer dinged, I peeled off the two halves and massaged the remainder of the formula into my skin. Rather than slathering on a thick layer of moisturizer, as I do every evening before going to sleep, my face felt hydrated enough for a simple pump or two of facial oil. The next morning, my face was devoid of the usual redness around my nose and despite the fact that I was fighting a cold, there was very little puffiness around my eyes. And that, my friends, is what a cult favorite beauty product should do.
