Few things make for a better combination than world class supermodels and gorgeous black tie gowns. To prove that point is the amfAR Gala, which took place last night, right off the Croisette in Cannes.
The 22nd Annual Cinema Against AIDS Gala is a favorite among the fashion set. Carine Roitfeld, of CR Fashion Book, was tasked with providing the fashion for last night’s event. But that doesn’t mean she pulled an Anna Wintour at the Met Gala and approved all the outfits that graced the red carpet, but rather that she styled the fashion show, which took place during the dinner portion of the evening.
This year, the theme was ’70s disco, so Ms. Roitfeld created the most glittering homage possible. She outfitted models such as Bella Hadid and Jourdan Dunn in jumpsuits and teeny dresses that sparkled. Those looks were slightly more over-the-top than the sheer, lacy and shimmering gowns that the model-heavy crowd donned for the red carpet portion of the event.
