How British Fashion Designers Are Responding to the Brexit

They took to Instagram to voice their opinions

Last week, the British Fashion Council reached out to their members to see how they felt regarding the impending vote on leaving the EU. The result was a resounding “in.” The industry wanted to remain within the bloc, as leaving would likely harm the future of their businesses and their abilities to flourish.

This morning, as the U.K. voted and effectively decided to Brexit, those designers are standing by their original opinion. Heartbroken, devastated, fearful and full of uncertainty, plenty of them have taken to social media to share their feelings on the decision. Some, like Erdem, have nothing to say more than, “Sad day.” More outspoken designers, such as Vivienne Westwood, wrote an entire message for their followers, saying this is the end of a union and calling for further action.

Here, we rounded up the posts of various designers, all of whom will be impacted by this change.
