The Best Songs You Missed Last Week: BANKS, The Head and the Heart, More

If you were caught up in the summer heat or you may have missed some songs that came out last week, so we’re here to catch you up real quick. This week, we’re featuring new tracks from Britney Spears and G-Eazy, BANKS, The Head And The Heart, Kehlani and Hoops.

Britney Spears ft. G-Eazy

The original princess of pop is back with her first single since 2013. It’s decidedly more downtempo than, say, “Toxic,” but it definitely has that signature sexy Britney vibe. Working with G-Eazy was a smart choice for the pop star since he’s on the up and up. Hopefully there’s a bigger banger to come from Britney.

BANKS

BANKS is back with her first song since 2015: a very FKA Twigs-like track that shows she doesn’t care what you think of her and full of quality R&B. Her soulful vocals are still as enticing as ever and the song, albeit haunting, is catchy.

The Head And The Heart

If you were looking for a ’70s throwback track akin to Simon & Garfunkel, look no further. The Head And The Heart are back retroactively making musical magic happen. This song is full of the best parts of folk from the past.

Kehlani

Kehlani knows how to make a single unapologetically about herself. This song isn’t what it seems though: it focuses in on her compassion for the world. We really admire Kehlani’s heart.

Hoops

If you were looking for something in-between Best Coast and Real Estate, then Hoops is the band for you. “Cool 2” is essentially your favorite beach day bottled up into a shimmery indie-pop track. We can’t wait to hear more from these guys.
