Emmanuelle Alt, the editor of Vogue Paris, is the penultimate fashion girl crush. With a shaggy, fringed ‘do and an undeniably natural beauty, she oozes that French je ne sais quoi. It helps that she’s friends with a sartorially pleasing crew of designers and fellow editors. Apparently, she also knows how to throw a party.
Zoë Kravitz, Azzedine Alaïa, Marc Jacobs, Bella Hadid, Charlotte Rampling, Riccardo Tisci, Inez and Vinoodh: The list of glitterati goes on, all of whom attended the Vogue Paris Foundation dinner last night, hosted by the striking Alt.
While The New York Times compared last night’s soirée to fashion’s prom, a much more accurate comparison might be the Met Gala. The third annual French party, which takes place during Couture Week, is thrown to raise money for the Paris fashion museum, the Palais Galleria. It’s also hosted at the museum, inside of it’s courtyard, which was tented for the occasion. It was a scene where Vanessa Paradis was spotted rolling cigarettes and Derek Blasberg got a cadre of models, designers and retail mavens to pose for a wild shot. Clearly, it was the invite to receive for Couture after hours.
