Midtown Manhattan might not be the most obvious destination for a fashion party, but that didn’t stop designers and fashion folks from flocking to Saks Fifth Avenue last night. The storied department store was celebrating the opening of The Terrace, a new outdoor dining experience that is perfect for dedicated shoppers.

Located on the eighth floor of the Fifth Avenue flagship, The Terrace boasts views of Rockefeller Plaza and offers a full dining experience. However, the best feature just might be the fact that it’s adjacent to the shoe department.

Regardless, last night Marchesa‘s Keren Craig, Brandon Maxwell, Cushnie et Ochs‘ Michelle Ochs and Carly Cushnie, Prabal Gurung and Adam Lippes braved the humidity to celebrate the new space. It helped that Veuve Clicquot provided the freely flowing bubbly. Major players from Saks were on hand as well, including President Marc Metrick, Chief Merchant Tracy Margolies and SVP and Fashion Director Roopal Patel.

Last night’s party is sure to be one of many celebrations hosted at Saks in the near future, as the department store is undergoing massive renovations. Slated to be completed in 2018, the major overhaul will elevate Saks’ fashion offering further with luxe decor. Plus, they will be opening a new location, in Brookfield Place, this September. We anticipate there to be an opening party for that, one that will be packed even more designers, a few celebs and plenty of envy-inducing outfits.
