The CD7 Congressional Campaign of Peter Jacob says someone drew a swastika on the sidewalk outside the Democratic candidate’s Union home on Oct. 7th.

The candidate plans a press conference to be held on Tuesday, October 11th at 9 am. at Jacob’s house.

Campaign Manager Josh Levin said he believes the incident is directly linked to the increased prevalence of “casual racism” being spread by politicians like Donald Trump, Scott Garrett, and Leonard Lance, who recently promoted what Levin called a racist article attempting to link Peter Jacob and the Orlando Pulse Nightclub shooter.

Jacob is running against Republican incumbent U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance.

Lance Chief of staff Todd Mitchell issued a statement in response to the news.

“The display of anti-Semitic hate symbols like the swastika is abhorrent,” Mitchell said. “We join Peter Jacob in condemning this offensive act of vandalism and support a full police investigation into the matter.

“We strongly reject, however, the Jacob campaign’s outrageously false race-baiting attacks against Leonard Lance and his supporters,’ he added. “These attacks from the Jacob campaign are untrue, irresponsible and politics at its worst.”
