RESEE.COM, a re-commerce site specializing in vintage, luxury shopping, is holding their first charity auction, featuring custom, vintage and designer items from celebrity favorites. Interested parties can now bid on personal items from Anna Dello Russo, Inès de la Fressange, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Betty Catroux, Kylie Minogue and Carine Roitfeld. If you’re preparing a superbly vintage Halloween ensemble, Claudia Schiffer pledged the bright yellow Chanel jacket from her 1995 Chanel ad campaign. Starting on October 15, shoppers will be able to bid on everything from a vintage DVF dress from Diane von Furstenberg herself to a Dries van Noten dress previously owned by Cindy Sherman, with all proceeds donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. There are twelve celebrities in total offering up their wares.
RESEE was created by Sofia Bernardin and Sabrina Marshall, two Americans living in Paris. The women wanted to find celebrities who were just as devoted to breast cancer research as they were, to donate from their personal collections. “We looked to strong and inspiring women, women with defining voices who fought to keep their individuality and character,” Marshall told the Observer.
Some of the stand-out items are Betty Catroux’s custom Yves Saint Laurent suit, as well as Hermès and Chanel bags, pledged by Aerin Lauder. “Aerin epitomizes that effortless, timeless beauty and her donated items are a tribute to her elegance,” Marshall said, offering the ultimate compliment. Other favorites include a hand crafted necklace made by Gabriella Crespi in the ’70s.
This vintage auction is RESEE’s biggest event of the year, and lasts throughout the week. If none of the celebrity approved items are appealing, donations are accepted while purchasing any item on the site. With pieces from Yves Saint Laurent, Prada, Balenciaga and Tom Ford, it won’t be hard to find a chic way to give back.
