Assemblyman John Wisniewski (D-Sayreville) will kick off his gubernatorial campaign next month, sources tell PolitickerNJ.

The Middlesex County Democratic lawmaker, the longtime chairman of the Assembly Transportation Committee, and the chair of the joint-committee that investigated Bridgegate, is a former state Democratic chairman and the former director of the New Jersey for Bernie Sanders Campaign.

So far, only former Goldman Sachs executive Phil Murphy, a Democrat, is officially a 2017 gubernatorial candidate, but he’s about to have company. Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli (R-Hillsborough) is scheduled to launch tomorrow, and state Senator Ray Lesniak (D-Elizabeth) will lift off early this month.
