Inverso served in the state senate from 1992 to 2008. He made a comeback in 2013 when he challenged incumbent state Senator Linda Greenstein (D-Plainsboro) and lost by two percentage points in one of the closest elections of that year.

Now a Pinewood Derby semi-final does not occur without the presence of the former state senator, retired from Roma Bank.

“He’s everywhere,” a source said Tuesday in reference to Inverso, a Republican.

The former senator’s uptick in visibility continues to fuel the notion that he wants a rematch with Greenstein.
