This Thursday is Thanksgiving, which means a short work week and plenty of delicious food. If you and your family have different political beliefs, however, there could be awkwardness at the dinner table if the election comes up in conversation.
Luckily, Twitter has come up with a solution: just don’t celebrate the holiday at all.
The hashtag #ReasonsToSkipThanksgiving began trending this morning, as many Twitter users argued that no meal was worth the political awkwardness:

As always, a fair amount of tweeters also thought the entire hashtag was stupid. And they have a point—isn’t it worth weathering a little political tension for a day of food, family and football?
