Wisniewski Brings in Becker as His Campaign Manager

Assemblyman John Wisniewski’s gubernatorial campaign on Thursday announced it has hired Robert Becker to serve as Campaign Manager.

Prior to joining Wisniewski, Becker served on U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign as Iowa State Director, before moving on to oversee operations in Michigan, New York, and California as Deputy National Field Director.

“Now that I’ve officially launched my campaign for Governor, I’m happy to announce that we’ve brought on Robert Becker,” said Wisniewski. “His proven leadership in working with progressive leaders like Bernie Sanders will help guide our campaign as we take on the powerful special interests, Wall Street banks and transactional politics of Trenton to stand up for working people.”

Becker returns to New Jersey twenty years after managing former Morris County Prosecutor Michael Murphy’s improbable 1997 gubernatorial run. In 2000, he worked for former New Jersey Sen. Bill Bradley’s presidential campaign. Becker has spent 28 years managing Democratic campaigns, across two dozen states.

“It is humbling to be asked to lead one our nation’s most important campaigns for a progressive champion like John Wisniewski,” Becker said. “He is exactly the kind of Governor New Jersey needs to resist President-elect Trump’s threats to our democracy and hard-fought rights. His campaign will be transformative and I know he’ll lead this state with Main Street values.”
