A source tells Observer that Shanique Speight, a former school advisory board member and longtime North Ward Democratic ally, will swap in for Assemblywoman Blonnie Watson.
Watson assumed the seat last year upon the retirement from the assembly of L. Grace Spencer, now a judge.
A former school advisory board member and a longtime Central Ward ally of the North Ward Democratic establishment, Speight would run on a ticket with state Senator M. Teresa Ruiz and Assemblywoman Eliana Pintor Marin.
