Brian Karl

Brian Karl is a writer, filmmaker, curator and cultural anthropologist based in Western North America. His writing on art has appeared in art-agenda, Art in America, Artforum, e-flux, Frieze, Hyperallergic and Yishu Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art, among other publications. His screenplay, ‘Cybersyn: The Computer and the Revolutionary’—based on the true story of early cybernetics deployed as part of a socialist nationalist project in Allende-era Chile—has been an official selection at multiple international film festivals.
