Lane Sugata (they/them) is an artist, educator and nonprofit and philanthropic leader working to advance mission-driven organizations on the frontlines of social change. As a Senior Program Officer of Creativity and Free Expression at the Ford Foundation, they manage a grants portfolio focused on cultural and narrative change, civic engagement and gender, race and disability justice. Lane is an appointee to New York City’s Cultural Affairs Advisory Commission and a member of the board of directors of the Association of Performing Arts Professionals and Funders for LGBTQ Issues, which aims to increase resources for LGBTQ+ communities.
