Dr Mariana Dahan

Mariana Dahan

Dr. Mariana Dahan is the founder of the World Identity Network, a nonprofit launched on Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island advocating for universal identity. A former World Bank executive, Dahan launched the organization’s Identification for Development (ID4D) program and managed it for two years, before taking on a bolder role in the group's Senior Vice-Presidency in charge of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda and the relationships with the United Nations. Her first TEDx Talk titled "Identity: How Proof of Who You Are Can Change the Life You Lead" became a reference point in the self-sovereign identity movement, revealing what hundreds of millions of "invisible children" born without a proof of identity have to go through in order to thrive. She is a blockchain faculty member at Singularity University, a founding member of the Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC) launched at the World Economic Forum in Davos, and a former blockchain fellow at New America.
