MondoWeiss
The Mondoweiss column at The New York Observer started in 2006 as Philip Weiss’s personal blog, initially covering a mix of media criticism, Jewish identity and political commentary. Over time, it zeroed in on Zionism, U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East, and the role of American Jews in shaping that policy—often challenging mainstream pro-Israel narratives. By 2007, Weiss took Mondoweiss independent, transforming it into a full-fledged news site with a distinctly anti-Zionist and progressive Jewish perspective.
