Yesterday evening Observer Media celebrated atop the Hotel Gansevoort Park Avenue's Sun Deck. Guests on the perfect summer's night included YUE Publisher Chiu-Ti Jansen, New York Observer contributors Jasmine Lobe and Melanie Berliet, and Avi Gill of the Participation Agency—bringing with him a team of Ciao Bella scoopers who broke balmy temps with sorbet and gelato in coconut, chocolate, mango and pear. Between these treats and other small bites of goat cheese and fig hors d'oeuvres, the rooftop hummed—calming only for a moment, when CEO Joseph Meyer took a few words to thank the team and to briefly discuss the recent acquisition of Source Media by Observer Capital. By all accounts the event was a hit, thanks in large part to the NYC Rain Gods for delaying their descent to Manhattan 'til Tuesday.
