Agnes Gund
Agnes Gund is an American philanthropist and arts patron born in 1938. She is known for her support of numerous arts organizations and her efforts to promote social justice through the arts. Gund served as the president of the Museum of Modern Art in New York from 1991 to 2002 and has also held positions on the boards of the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Foundation for Contemporary Arts. In 2017, Gund founded the Art for Justice Fund, a $100 million initiative aimed at reducing mass incarceration in the United States. Gund has received numerous awards and honors for her philanthropy and advocacy, including the National Medal of Arts and the J. Paul Getty Medal. She continues to be a powerful force for positive change in the arts and in society.
